Regarding the CD/DVD piece... To each his own I reckon. My major goal was to end up with something that could pass for factory.
The CD/DVD panel has lettering below the buttons. Instead of lettering the trim kit piece, the maker left the spaces where the lettering is on the panel clear, theoretically allowing the lettering to just show through. They probably couldn't do it any other way then that, as the lettering is illuminated from behind when the lights (and the sound system) are on. But as the lettering would be showing through that layer of plastic during the day I just didn't see where it wouldn't look like something I'd tacked over the CD/DVD panel and I didn't want that.
I think it looks fine without that piece. (shrug) Your mileage may vary. If someone else here gets the kit and uses that piece, I'd be more then happy to see the result. I could be convinced. I still have that piece. I haven't thrown anything away that I didn't use.
I see what you are saying. My kit wasn't made by B&I (Brushed Aluminum) and had no regard for the letters and to tell the truth I didn't even notice that they lit at night Yours still looks good though. I tried to contact B&I about buying the trim for the console by the drink holders and the instrument surround but they never replied to my E-mail.
Could you put up the piece you left out and take a pic to see how it looks. Just hold it up without glueing it in. I'd love to see how it looks. Thanks
Bruce,
Quick question. The trim around the seat heater buttons - are the holes pre-cut. Because, I don't have seated heats - hence that part of my car don't have those 2 buttons. I could not see any option of specifying this on the B&I website when I order.
