my car makes a wired sound.........

when my car is parked, about every minute or so it makes a weird sound like a little vaccum pump for a few seconds.

Does anyone know what that sound is?

If it is coming from the dashboard area..it is the CD changer spinning up. Even with the key out..the car seems to be "turned on". When you open the door, the cd/dvd changer spins up. I got into my car while talking on the cell phone and without even putting the key in...the bluetooth in the vehicle connected to my phone.

It's ALIVE!

no, it's coming from under the hood somewhere, like a fuel pump would sound or somthing??

not by the glovebox either. it is comming form this thing below. what is it???
it is on the drivers side next to the air intake

on mine when i turn off the car it sounds weird on the passanger side behind the glove box and it sounds like a vacuum sound... I have no idea what it is.

Don't worry: I hade same noise on my C350 4Mattic

it coming from coolant pump, its normal on all mersedes cars
When you turn you car off It will go away after like 10-15 min

They using different coolant system then outher car makers

You can also confirm with you service department

well hey, i think i know what u mean..i can hear a noise like a little fan that turns on and off in just couple seconds..and it comes from like the air conditioning vents..rite? if so, that's normal..even tho i don't know what it's function is lol..but yea, if it's that noise, don't worry about it..mine does that too wen the car is off completely..or wen im sitting in it atleast (dont no if it hapens wen im outside the car) lol.

That's the ABS valve assembly.

I have the same issue. I've recorded the noise and attached. It's driving me crazy. I played for the dealer and they told me they had no idea what it was.
