07 C230 (loaner) versus 08 C300

Dealer gave me a 07 C230 Sport for a loaner to keep overnight. So obviously I wanted to compare it to my 08 C300 Sport. Some of miy observations noted below:

. The difference in power is noticable (about 25hp more on C300)

. C230 feels narrow, difference in elbow room in front compartment is very noticable.

. C230 Sport AMG 17" wheels are nice-looking

. C230 steering wheel buttons in metal are easier to see and use.

. C300 interior is more sporty, roomier and more expensive looking.

. C300 exterior styling looks far better, kinda S-class-like.

Interesting. My C300 goes in for some brake work tomorrow and a new lower grill that was damaged before i got the car (bought the car as a demo).

I am curious what loaner i will get. I will do a comparison of it is similar.

How many miles on your C300? Getting new brake pads?

My ML is in the shop for a few days, so they gave me this C230 loaner. My C300 only has about 4500 miles so far.

:)

Hey, just dont make any try to compare C230 and C300. Its useless. Just go and get C300. As for price C230 and C300 are almost similar.

Yeah...when I was in the market for a new car back in 2005 I could have bought a Mercedes then, but the 'E' class was (and still is) beyond my reach and I thought the 'C' was too small for the money. It just looked small on the outside and inside it didn't seem much bigger then the Geo Prism I was getting rid of. Additionally, I wasn't ready to start trusting Mercedes quality then. But the small size of the car put me off.

I don't think the new 'C' is really all that much bigger, but the W203 is just very small looking in comparison. There may be some styling touches there that are just bamboozling the eye into thinking it's bigger then it really is...the older W202 seems bigger somehow to the eye then the W203 and according to the specs it isn't. But had it not been for the small seeming size of the W203 I'd have probably bought one back in 2005. I'm really glad now that I didn't. I like this new 'C' so much better then the old one.

I loved my 04 C320 too, but its nothing comparing to my new c300. I've also driven all the other models of w203 as loaners, even E-class n S-class, but none of them was as good as the w204. At least thats what i think.

I had a loaner 06 E350 for 3 days in November and it had nowhere near the style, sportiness or solid feel of the 08 C300. I was a bit surprised.
