front license plates

for people who live in states that require the front plates to be displayed, who will NOT be putting the front license plate on?

i look at the front of my car all the time and I just can't imagine breaking those lines with a front plate?

what do you think? do not put the plate until a cop cites me? is it a "fix it" or is it heavier than that?

i saw some ferrari's and lamborghinis with no front license plates, i wonder if the cops don't catch them ?

Our C300 Sport from local dealer came with front plate bracket in the trunk. They made us sign something stating that customer declined front plate mounting. In California it's required. Front plate fix-it ticket is about $125 (not a moving violation for insurance purposes). I'm leaving it off, same as my Porsche.

Mine came mounted, It looks fine, but then again I wont take it off to see how much better it looks without a front plate.. because I know I'll leave it off and then end up with a ticket.
DC/VA cops are not the easiest going

I assume now though.. there are drill holes in the font anyway.

exact same.

and the salesman and finance guy were both giving me the "do you want us to mount it for you since it's illegal to drive without plates in cali?" all the while shaking their heads no, hinting that it looked ridiculous.. haha. i chose to "mount it yourself"

Thoughtful Benz dealers here do not want to drill the ugly holes, until the customer requests it.

I do run the front plate on my ML350 since it came with bracket mounted. But I have tinted front windows, same $125 fix-it ticket applies if I get cited and choose to leave as-is. No problem.

yup, they made me sign that too. since it is only a fix-it, i will leave it off and play dumb when the cops ask me why i didn't have my front plates. "officer, i didn't mount it because I didn't know where to put it "

my wife will probably get away with a warning, but i will probably get a ticket

When I picked up my C300 Sport, the sales guy put the front plate holder in the trunk & told me to leave the registration taped to windshield even after I get the plates. Said the excuse prevented a fix-it ticket when the cop stopped him. Hope he is right.

I got 2 tickets in a wk for no plates awhile back. But I still refuse to put it on. I've been driving ticket free for 6 months now. It seems like cops are going easier with it nowadays since red light cameras will capture your rear plates with a video clip

If you're in LA, don't EVER drive to LAX w/o front plate. Cops WILL pull you over. I personally got 4 just from LAX. Oh yea watch out for parking enforcements at Larchmont+3rd Street
