huh? why the backlash?
I haven't seen the YouTube video, my workplace blocks that and other social networking sites. But anyway, if he just debadged as you would normally think, what's the beef with that. I've done it to just about all my rides once I learned how, because I believe it simply looks better. Why is it looking like a poseur? This is not like the guy who put an amg badge onto his c300, over on mbworld forums. This is not misrepresenting yourself, you're not saying you have a e class or a c350. Just making for cleaner lines.
I understand if you don't like it and its not your thing, but don't understand the opposition to it. I for one think its cleaner and would debadge everywhere except grille and wheels, and even the wheels if I could find a nice plain chrome/silver insert.
yea i basically did it to make it look clean. i wasnt trying to make it look any better by making it look like another car... if i wanted to do that i would just buy that car.
i just learned how to debadge and i thought i would just show people how to as well...
hey, I am not slamming anyone for doing it, I just dont know why that would bother anyone enough to start messing with the finish a day after buying a 40k plus car..
to each his/her own, I always say!
Around here it seems most people that debsasge their cars are the ones that didn't get the larger engine, etc and want to appear they have the faster car.
I'm not bagging on anyone that does it - but it's obvious when someone debadges a C300 or a 3-series that's a base model vs an M or AMG (or even a C350)....

I agree ... I left the c320 & 4matic on mine ... it lets everyone know my options

Actually, I live in Germany, and its VERY common to see vehicles, without any numbers or model on them. Actually u can order them like that straight from the dealer. Most people that want to poser, ADD, things instead of remove them.
At the end of the day, u spent the money u can do whatever u like, a mercedes is a mercedes either way u look at it, especially to those that cant afford one anyway.
