4Matic with staggered wheels?

Hi, I have a C300 4Matic, fully loaded coming soon for my wife.

I plan to put aftermarket wheels on it. Do the front/rear wheels need to be the same width since it is a 4Matic?

That would be a no no.
AWD systems are very very sensitive to track and rolling diameter differences. The general rule is if it did not come from factory staggered (like Porsche 4's for example) then don't do it.

Does that mean you can not put any aftermarket rims on? Even if they are the same front and rear. I plan on getting 18" rims for the 4matic.

4M cars with sport package in Canada come with staggered wheels from the factory....that is, however, a first for MB

I decided against staggered rims because of the 4matic, however i did upgrade to 18 by 8's
