Does the Passenger Side Mirror Tilt Down in Reverse
I was just curious, as we ran into this problem on our ML (but got it solved thanks to this forum). When you put the new C-Class into reverse, does the passenger side mirror tilt down so that you can see the curb (and avoid scraping the wheels)?
Our 2007 ML320 CDI did not do this, which really surprised me. But apparently the feature is just disabled for the US market. I forgot to check on this when I was test-driving the C350. If it does not tilt, can it be activated through the Star Diagnostics, as it can in the ML, etc.?
Thanks.
PS: I checked out another Benz forum. Wow - talk about some childish behavior from both users and moderators. I couldn't believe it! I'll delete that bookmark and stick to this forum.

My service manager said that even some of the S-class models aren't programmed for this - which surprises many owners after they drop $100K on their beautiful sedan.
I suspect that if this can be done on the S and ML (both new models), it can be done on the C.
They de-activated this feature in the US in an effort to boost their J.D. Power quality survey results, as the mirror tilt statistically leads to more mirror motor failures.
I'm really curious to know if anyone outside the US has this feature. If so, then I know it can be done.
My passenger mirror does dip in reverse and the feature is activated / deactivated in the main dash menu. I have to say that it's not really needed with the 'dumbo' mirrors though
Thats what was confusing from my understanding the 2008 C Class 300 the mirrors fold in but do not fold down when you go into reverse showing you if you are close to the curb or not. Crusty I understand that the mirrors fold in but I think the thread is about tilting down while in reverse and the 08 are 300 and 350 in the US.
