i understand for aesthetics point, no tint front windows looks bad but safety wise i think it is good and needed. Police officers approaching a car should be able to see what is going on inside. Every ordinary people have the right to see what is going on inside another car for their own safety; if as car is driven in public domain than people should be able to see inside and know what is inside. I suppose the compromise is having a very light tint on the front windows but something that does not obstruct viewing.
hahaha thats hilarious. Where I live we can have just about any tint we want...and we don't have accident problems...
You might think it's hilarious but I don't. If you can't see the eyes of the driver, then you can't see where he's looking. As an avid cyclist, at an intersection or turnout, you have to make that eye contact to let them know you're coming through quicker than they realize. That eye contact lets the cyclist know they' at least 'have seen you." A cyclists nightmare:Tinted Windows". How do you know that there are no accident problems??? Do you work in that field?

I live in Lexington Kentucky, traffic fatalites are very low, (below national average) and only a small minority of the people in this horse racing town get tints anyway. I understand the cyclist point of view but, idk, we just don't have a problem with that. I watch out for cyclists, I have a MAJOR problem with cyclists that do not wear bright clothing at night and insist on riding on major roads...a reflector would be nice.
Serious cycling for training is almost always done during the daylight hours and on asphalt for road bikes. Cars do not realize how fast road bikes are going and for that reason the eye contact is essential. The USA is blessed with an amazing road system with many paved shoulders, something we don't have in Canada unfortunately!
