Today's C300 like yesterday's 300E...

I was at my local dealership the other day and got to have a good look at the new 2008 C-Class, even took one for a ride. When I pulled back in the lot after the test run, I parked it next to a W124 300E. Visually they appeared to be about the same size?!? Are my eyes deceiving me or has the C-Class grown to be the size of yesterday's E-Class?

There is some resemblence. Both are more angular than round. Also the grill in the W204 is more upright like the mercs of old.
