Ok my SRS light is on and ther is a message for 1 MALFUNCTION also says something about the safety restraint system in the center of the cluster. This happended when I hit the brakes pretty hard this never happened before this is the first time. I would like to know if there is a way I can reset this myself by pulling fuses or disconnecting the battery terminals, or is this something that has to get taken to the dealer. Tried the search without any luck any suggestions greatly appreciated.
honestly i think you fried the chip, my clk430 had the same problem...chip cost about 900$ or around there (just the chip!) AND I NEVER CHANGED I. when you slammed on the breaks it shorted the chip because it burned at such a qucik speed through your wires it couldve fried your chip. get it checked out and its probably that issue.
Oh i see so this chip where is it exactly located and how can this burn out from slamming breaks. I had to slam them pretty good several times without issues and now this will fry the chip. Are the air bags still functional in case of colision then. thanks for the reply any more info would be great some of the techs gotta be on here.
SRS light has to be reseted with the Star Diagnostic.
check both of your seat's module connection. There's a airbag sensor on the passenger seat. check your fuses. If all seem okay, just have your dealer run the Diagnostic and reset it.

uh...what? clk430 and w203 brakes are not driven by wire. you either have a bad from SAM or rear SAM. forgot which one controls the SRS. each SAM is around $300-400.
ok cool thanks alot will check all these things this wknd and go from there I know the passenger seat has a loose box underneath where bunch of stuff is pluged in maybee something to do with that been like that since i bought it
