Hi, I am in the UK and am now on my 2nd C32AMG after the first one was replaced. It had major problems where is just "died" over a period of 2 days which Mercedes claimed was due to fuel contamination. This was thoroughly researched by myself and the Trading Standards organisation in the UK and was found not to be the case. I heard of a similar case with an ML class vehicle. Has anyone had a similar problem with the C32 AMG?
I also had a serious problem after starting up the vehicle. If you touched the accelerator pedal soon after then it would just race up to full revs and stick there. It happened once just after I put it into reverse and I could barely hold the vehicle on the brakes and stop it hitting a building. After this problem occurred the revs then raced up and down on their own. This happened several times and the vehicle was "life threatening". Anybody had a similar problem?
The car spent over 35% of its first 16 months at the garage!! I still feel I didn't get a fair deal from Mercedes for my trouble.
Hi Mark,
You definately have a problem, have you take it to the dealer yet, and what do they say?
Yeah I have a similar problem on my ML when it was fairly new, it die on me on the road twice, but not the surging accelaration. replaced fuel pump twice. Since then I don't have anymore problem. Knock on wood:-) Let us know what up.

I had a mitsubishi that used to high rev and then rev up and down on its own years ago. I had the fuel injectors replaced and did all kindsa stuff. Nothing worked.
I finally took it to a specialty shop in Los Angeles recommended to me by an old roommate and the guy merely worked on the computer a bit and it never happened again. Apparently it wasn't even a physical problem.
I wish I could remember exactly what he did, but it was probably 15 years ago. I do recall it was fairly simple and only cost me around $60 or so.
It must be in the computer and/or throttle servo - throttle sensor. Sounds like a ECU software error. Usually, there are safegards for mechanical errors. Is there a loose connector to the throttle body?? This may be the most likely cause.
