Euro Navi vs US Navi

What is the differance between the US Nav and the Euro nav. Also there seems to be some one in CA selling the Euro nav installed plus other stuff. Who is he and how do I Get intouch with him. I have a C320 with the Bose system, Will the Nav Work with the Bose System? Will it play CD, DVD movies? Can you still install the cd changer in the glove box and will it work with the Nav. Any other info will really help.
Thanks

Hi:

In my Euro car the nav works with the Bose system (both factory-installed).

I think the new nav model plays DVDs. Mine doesn't, but it plays music CDs. You may have trouble with copy-protected CDs, as it's a computer drive. I haven't had much experience with that, as I keep the nav disc inserted (the manual says you can switch disks after the nav has completed its route finding, but I've never tried).

I have an original MB CD changer installed in the trunk, which I prefer to the glove compartment where it takes up too much space (it was installed by the dealer after delivery, as MB doesn't install them in the trunk). It fits perfectly into the left-hand "pit" beside the spare wheel compartment.

However, I've no idea whether and how all that would work on a US model.

I would highly recomend euro nav over us nav. First off you get a english chick doing the route guidance. But probably the best feature is the ability to hook up a special RGB cable that will let you watch dvd(w/dvd player of course) IN MOTION through the TV button(which is not found on us nav). GO EURO! Btw before I installed the nav I had the upgraded bose stereo and cd changer. They both worked FINE after nav install.

US versus Euro COMAND's

The US version has FM, AM and weather radio bands. The Euro version has the same FM band, but a different AM band. The US AM band starts at 630KHz and goes to 1710 KHz in 10KHz intervals. The Euro band starts at 631 KHz and goes to about 1600 KHz in 9 KHz intervals. The Euro COMAND has a long wave band (useless in the US) in place of the weather band.

The Euro version has RTS which shows the name of the station and other info such as song names, etc. Few stations in the US use this. The Euro version car receive traffic warnings by radio which are not used in the US.

The person selling the COMAND's is Steve Krabbenborg. He lives in the Netherlands, but makes several trips to the US to install COMAND's. he can be reached at www.mbenz.nl Also he has a listing on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2409596697&category=38 653

My Euro COMAND works fine with my Bose and the MB-Alpine cd changer will work also. For an additional $50, Steve will install the factory AUX input in the glovebox.
