New mid-year models

Coming to Canada (and I assume USA) for February production (pricing not yet announced):

C230 Sedan: 1.8L engine from C230 coupe, sports suspension (lowered), 17 Evolution wheels, sports seats w/leather inserts, Aluminum dash/console trim.
manual or automatic

C320 Coupe: 3.2 litre manual or Auto.

C320 Sedan: Return of sports pkg w 17 inch wheels.

I expect C230 sedan will sell well - A "poor man's" C32 ?!?

(Sorry if previously posted)

Thanks Don!!!

Keep us updated! It's very interesting that we will be getting a C230 sedan. I was quite surprised upon learning it from MB Canada HQ as well. I don't think that the US market will be getting it though, especially since they don't get the C240 Classic.

Any ideas what sort of 17" wheels the C320 Sport sedan will come with? Presently, just the C320 is available with the Sport pkg as it has been dropped for '03 for the C240, correct?

wheels / sport

No, but likely a specific wheel.
For '03 there was no C240 or C320 Sport for Canada. Now there will be this late '03 C320 Sport again.

I wish they had called coupes CL's to avoid all confusion in the market. That is what there known as at MB internally.

So the '03 brochure is incorrect in saying that there is a sport package for just the C320? Or has it simply been delayed till now?

Yes, I noticed that. However, wouldn't that be confused with the CL-class then? [:)]

P.S. Apologies, I referred to you as "Dan" earlier. I've since edited that post.

As I recall some brochures we're printed before model was discontinued. I think it was announced in November '02 so there may have actually built some. It was likely discontinued due to very low sales in '02.

I think the fact it can now come as manual, and the addition of 17" wheels made MB Canada think there will be much more consumer interest.

We appreciate you keeping us up to date!

Incidentally, now that we have pricing at hand, how do you think this new model, the C230 that is, will be positioned within the C-class lineup. Do you believe that it will compete with the C240 Classic?

The C320 Coupe should be very interesting indeed! I look forward to trying one in person.
