hi everyone, im a newbie here and was wondering if u all can help me with ur expertise...
i purchased a k&n filter for a 2002 c240 the other day and was wondering where in the world the airbox is at. i know its a stupid question, but the dealer in northern calif will not tell me bcause they do not want customers to play with the engine which voids the warranty. a few dealers for k&n have no knowledge of this either. i believe it is located underneath the plastic hinged two-part engine valve cover, but am unsure how it is removed. i have tried to pull it out, but i did not want to pull too hard and have it break. if it is underneath the plastic cover, do u have to pull it up with the 2 intake hoses that run alongside both sides of the cover, or do u just yank at the cover?
any help will be greatly appreciated! also, do u need 2 filters for this car and will the filter affect the computer's a/f monitor if i have an amg bolt on xhaust also? thanks alot!
I know that putting a K&N filter in your car can't void the warranty. As far as the location of the airbox, I am not sure, but it is probably under the cover if you can't see it. Just pull up on the edge of the cover and it should pop off. It probably has 3 or 4 snaps holding it down. Then look for it there. Just follow where the intake tubes go and they should lead to the airbox.
