Alarm chrip

For those of you who want this feature:

'Have your local MB dealer select something called 'norway' in the system command.

It will chirp 3 times on locking and 1 time when you unlock. Also it seems to be a single tone.'
Re: Alarm chrip

Drew,

I asked my dealer to make this change to my alarm system. However, the dealer had no idea how to make the change. They looked at me like I was nuts.

Do you have any additional details?

Re: Alarm chrip

Drew, it has to do with the regional coding where the car is sold. The Netherlands coding allows the lights to blink 3 times and alarm to chirp. It's the feature prefered by owners here in Malaysia.

It can only be done at the dealer's by plugging in Star Diagnosis and accessing via DAS. Here's how it's done:

After selecting the necessary vehicle type, etc. go to
1. BODY
2. REAR SAM
3. ACCESS CONTROL MODULE ADAPTION
4. SELECT REGION coding

Those should be the steps. I might've missed out a couple of stuff, but it's roughly like that.
