240 vs 320

Is the 240 slower than the 320 @ takeoff even with the manual transmission?
I'm debating which model to get. I love the fact that you can get a manual but stinks that you can only get it in the 240.
Any comments from those who own or who have driven both would be great!
Yes.

A C240 6 speed is slower than a 320 at takeoff, even with a manual transmission. Drive both and you'll see. The 320 is (and feels) much more powerful.
But, I bought the C240 6 speed because it is more fun to drive and I like the additional car control and driving participation. I don't have any illusions, however, that the C320 automatic would trounce me in a race to any speed (10 mph, 20, 30, etc.) If the C320 was available with the 6 speed, I would have bought that instead of the 240, though.
: Is the 240 slower than the 320 @ takeoff even with the manual transmission?
I'm debating which model to get. Re: 240 vs 320

There's more to life than hauling @$$.
The 240 has plenty of power, even with the auto. I've not driven the 6 speed, but I bought the 240 auto. I drove the 320, and was impressed, don't misunderstand. I just did not feel like it was $7,000 faster.
Take off is slow on both cars.
My advice: if you want the 6 speed, get it! My guess is that you will have good resale value later on just because of the novelty of a manual tranny Benz. Honestly, if I did not have another car (an Alfa Spider) with a stick, I'd probably have bought the 6 speed.
240 vs 320, I ordered the 6-sp 240

Have driven both multiple times for test drives as long as an hour! (are most people just get handed the key and told to go for it) Anyway, after driving the 320 auto and then the 240 auto, I was dissapointed. But, my first time in the 6-sp manual was a nice suprise. It felt much faster than the auto, if its true or not it felt that way and was way more fun. I might have gone for a 320 manual, but it doesn't seem $6000 faster. Hope this helps.
