Is anyone putting the flat hood stars on thier C's. I'm considering one that I found for $40 at autoclass.net. It's been a while since I've drivine a car with a bonafide hood ornament. What do you guys think?

Buy the flat star...

There's a high chance that the regular hood ornament will be stolen during the time you own the car. The flat star will save you some grief, and it looks nice, too.

Flat Star

I don't know for sure. However the picture of the flat star at autoclass looks like it has a two-screw attachment from the back. It looks like anyone with basic screwdriver skills could handle it.
Maybe someone in the know could verify this for us.....
Installation is really simple. However,...

on some models it requires removal of the hood latch from the underside of the hood. This requires a wrench or ratchet/socket, not just a screwdriver.
flat star and grill with benz emblem

just saw the picture of the flat hood star and the "c320 sports grill" with benz logo in the center,
these two items would really make a superb look
and enhance the whole appearence, not to mention
lessening the risk of ornament theft, i could only see the pictures, any one that can give me this aftermarket e-mail address- i would really appreaciate it, also thanks for all those that gave me the tire stuff info, Syd turnbull
