<br>C240 seats 4 (or 5) people, SLK seats 2 people.<br>Fuel economy is approximately the same.<br>C240 is a sedan, SLK is a very slick convertible.<br>C240 V6 has better engine sound than SLK 4-cylinder.<br>C240 has 6-speed manual, 2000 SLK has 5-speed manual (6-speed not available in SLK until 2001 model year).<br>C240 has rack&pinion steering, which is better than the SLK's recirculating ball steering.<br>C240 0-60mph in 8.2s, SLK230 0-60mph in 7.2s.<br>C240 has new strut front suspension, which I feel is not as good as the SLKs front suspension.<br>C240 is $30K, SLK230 is $40K.

However, when I was looking I did not like the 200 SLK for the following reasons:<p>The 4 cylinder engine very noisy - the V6 in the 320 sounds great<p>The material used in the console I did not care for - the 320 has been replaced by wood<p>The seats not very comfy - modifyed in the 2001 year<p>Suspension lacked road feel - better in the 2001 <p><br>I have driven the C320 and enjoyed it very much. If this will be your only car I would choice the sedan
