Best Tires for C230K

What are the best tires?

Between when I bought it and having a blowout I have 3 different tires and it annoys me plus handling could improve with a solid set. Dealer put two new and different brands on rear and my front driver is yet another tread and brand.

I want to buy a complete set but feel that my Goodyears on the rears wore out a bit too quick.

Thanks in advance.

Check the UTQG (wear rating) on your next set of prospective tyres if wear is an issue - lower figure (below 300) means quicker wear - Higher fig (up to around 600) will give you better wear.

Tirerack.com will show reviews and specs for any tyre and will also give info on wet/dry handling, noise and comfort etc.

Yep, didn't want to bore everybody with an opinion - did hrs of research as you have to live with them for years!!!

Continental Extreme Contact DWS - wear rating of 540 and give a quiet ride - good wet/dry ratings - 50 k warranty from memory - they are assymetric non directionals so can be rotated fully

Imported them from the US and still good value here

Yes, soft walls which some don't like - never bothered me, I value my rims - comfort rating in the reviews pretty good

Here's the Tirerack review of the top 17 tires in the 'ultra hi perf. all season' category (note the 32 million miles racked up)

Bought mine when they were first introduced at about $89 each -I wish it was still so!!

Hey there, little late responding to this, but I was going to say that we run Kumho Ecsta 4X (KU22) staggered - 225/45/17 Fr; 245/40/17 Re, and they're great tires. Excellent dry/wet performance with good tread life and reasonable price. I first discovered Kumho's years ago when I ran a modified RX-7 and my tuner shop recommended them to me. I've been a believer since. Very good value for the money.

Thanks, it's at the dealer for a new set. They wanted to look at it. It split along the seam of a design on the sidewall.

But they are keeping it till morning because they want to talk to their manager. The two back tires have 18,000 miles on them and are pretty bald. This is my wife's car. We take it in every 3-5000 cause we have a car care plan through the dealership and they NEVER warned us about it. I know she or I needed to notice sooner but if they are checking pressure, attempting to rotate shouldn't they advise this? I mean come on it's another way for them to squeeze money out of us. So as it stands they don't want to warrant the replacement by either manufacture or the wheel and tire care plan we have on top of it....
