Hi folks
I have a '06 reg'd W203 with 200CDI diesel engine.
While accelerating very lightly I have strange noise coming out of gearbox which doesn't sound normal. I could describe the noise as a "surge" or cavitation noise, it is not constant like bearing fail and it occurs only thru 1600-1950 rpm.
When rolling on slow speeds and pushing gear selector from D to N, the noise stops. So I reckon it IS related to gearbox. Fluids have been changed and no metal whatsoever came out, and oil was not black. Gearbox was flushed and all-in-all 12 litres was used and quantity checked both cold and warm.
What could be the problem?
Thanks for help
