Yup, sounds that way to me. Hopefully you didn't break anything.
Pull one of the wheels off and drop one of your lugs through it. If it extends through more than 3/4", it's too long.
I also think you need custom lug bolts, because your 211 wheels are R14 ball seat and your 203 uses 12R ball seats. Once you figure out the length you can buy custom bolts from radusadirect.com, R14x12M in the proper length.
Put your old ones back on and gently roll the car forward (preferably engine off in neutral) and see if it rolls freely and silently. If not you'll have to pull the rear rotors and see what you broke.
You can do this. However, as stated above, you need new bolts that not only have the proper heads for the wheels, but the proper length as well. You need to be able to get 6-7 good turns in. You will probably need spacers as well depending on the offset of the wheel.
It would be a good idea to visit a wheel specialist in your area that knows Mercedes inside and out.
