Hi on my 03 c230 the parking brake pedal releases but doesn't catch at the top and droops about half an inch back down, just enough to activate the annoying red "brake light engaged" warning and the loud beeping sound. Now I went to the MB dealer and they said there is no adjustment at the pedal cause a friend of mine suggested replacing the springs on the pull lever. The dealer said they only sell a parking brake shoe kit. Is it the springs on the lever or is this fixed by adjusting the parking brake tension under the back seat? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As you pull on the brake release lift the parking brake pedal with your left foot. Mine does not come all the way up when I am parked on a hill and figured out that if I help it up, I have no problem with the Brake light on the dash staying on.
