brake booster vacum hose

I believe this hose is the brake booster hose it runs down the side of the MAF. It has a 90 degree plastic elbow which goes into the top of the engine. This elbow has broken and I can not figure out how to get it out. Has any one had this same problem. This is on a c240, 2001

your going to buy the whole hose line the runs behind the MAF (it's a u shape)per dealer $106 dollars. if iam correct it's the yellowish plastic connector that broke (L shape) apparenly i don't think they sell just that connector only becuz when i was trying to take it out of the hose i had to break it lose into pieces to take it off the hose. now u should have the othe piece of yellowish plastic still in top side of the engine. u need to push in a little nipple to slide it out with a long pliers. i'll try post picture but ihave not bought the part yet becuz i find it crazy i have to replace the whole part. Per parts guy he said there was an upgrade on the part . Thats really a bad design on mbz the plastic gets brittle and breaks off. So your car probably still starts but very rough, mine when i pulled it out it shakes and dies so when i put back in and tape of the end i was able to move my car but it's hard to brake ,brake pedal so stiff so be careful

I made a piece from a vacuum hose I had to temporarily fix the problem. I also had to take the plastic piece out in pieces before it could come out. Now that that is removed I have some sort of coupler hooked to the back side of the intake manifold and cannot remove it. It appears that there is a plastic grommet which is held on by another piece which I have not been able to remove

if i understand you correct the other yellowish piece is still behind the intake manifold you have to release it by pressing a little thing protruding from that black thing. Or are you trying to pull that black thing out? give me ur email address to shoot u a picture i'll also try to figure how to post it here

Hi, it looks like I'm in the same situation with that yelowish elbow ... How did you solve it? What is that piece called and what is the part nr. ? How did you get that out from the black thing from the engine block? Can you buy that yelowish elbow separately?

Quick update: the PN is 2034302729 and is called LINE. You can look it up on line and prices are from $56.50 at MB Annapolis to ... about $80-90 at some other ones. Tax and shipping extra. In Canada is $120 plus tax. It comes as an elbow with the black u shaped hose with a split valve with another black hose [1 meter long] that has a heat shield on it and is bent in a very weird way and with a rubber piece on it. So, pretty smart german engineered design [sic].
Of course the engine cover has to be removed, the MAF has to be removed and don't forget to cover the air intake while you work there [you dont want to drop anything in there].
You will have first to pull straight out the yelowish piece from the intake using a long nose plier while you hold the black bushing pressed against the engine with a screwdriver.
Once you have the new LINE in your hands you will see what you have to disconnect and how.

Help, same issue

Well I was replacing the cps and also broke the same hose attachment. Already found the parts but the dealer didn't want to give me a hint on how to detach the hose from the brake booster or the broken piece in the manifold????

Any inputs?

thanks

Andres

I did PM you with what I did back then. It's pretty much what is described in my post from March 2009.
