C240 Manual Transmission Question

Hello,

Does anyone know if Mercedes Benz built manual transmissions with different gear ratios for different markets. I have a 2001 C240 with a six-speed manual transmission. However, I find that I am using one gear higher than my Mustang. Also, the motor runs at 2,500 rpm when I am cruising on the highway at 110 kph in sixth gear. This seems quite high to me considering that the vehicle should be able to run on the autobahn.

Any thoughts? Or are these gear ratios normal?

I have a C320 6speed. The gearing is much different than my e36 5speed bmw.
It seems like 3rd gear is like 2nd gear in the bmw.
