Inpect compressor clutch....check if it is engage or not. If not, check for voltage input to the magnetic coil. If no voltage, check the wire-fuse...
If there is voltage, the coil is bad.

If all is working, may be there is some problem of refrigerant or piping related. Visit repair shop is the good idea.

air conditioning problems

I have a w209 clk,the gas went low and the air con off lihght came on, I've had it re gassed but the light is still on.
I carried out the reset of the climate control and outside air temp re calibrate but the light is still on which means obviously the compressor won't recieve voltage to engage.
Im thinking it must be the low pressure sensor, does any one have any other ideas or know where the sensor is fitted on a 2009 w209 clk 320 convertible right hand drive?

Any help gratefully recieved

AC errors - try this

I spent several weeks trying to diagnose different problems with my AC and this was the simple fix. As many AC issues as I see in the posts, I wish this answer had more exposure.

Wait for 30 seconds or untill the led's stop flashing. Switch off the ignition. Check the evaporator temp sensor and pressure sensor for correct functionality.

I have a Denso A/C compressor that I purchased for my 2006 c230....I looked at the specs and it fits different year and models. If interested send me a message stating the year and model of your mercedes. Its brand new in a box. I only opened the box to take pictures of it. The a/c compessor sells for $1,080.00 USD but im willing to sell it for much much less and ship it to your location for free.

Do you think the reset solution will help if my ac takes a while to cool down? Or is it likely that I need to get it gased up? Takes about 5-7 minutes to properly cool on Auto.

Are you saying it takes 5-7 minutes for the interior to cool down? If so, that's just the joy of living in the hot Bahamas! If it's 5-7 minutes to get cool air from the vents, then something else is wrong. It could be low on coolant, but it could also be a damper problem.

Hot it is, but not complaining about it. Could be worse. Yeah, it seems to take about 5 minutes to get cool air from the vents. Maybe I'll try the reset procedure. Tested all the vent positions and they seems to blow air out fine. Will take it in to my mechanic to check. No stealer on my island.

I think the damper he may be referring to may be the hot cold mixer. If the pressure is fine, this might be the issue. Also, there is an on board diagnostic procedure
