Post Please help no power

Hi first of all I want to say is I’m new to forum and Mercedes car, but problem is not in my car it is my brothers, the car is w203 C 220 CDI 2002.
He had serviced it few day ago oil and oil filter + new front breaks and one of breaks had sensor witch was installed correctly on to the car. Next day after service he lost all the power with car it wouldn’t go over 3000 revs he took it back to garage where they put it on CPU and nothing shows as wrong he has no faults and all seems ok but no power and if in parking revs still stay under 3000.
He believes it could be a sensor that recognises new breaks and stops him from fast puling away and hard breaking while breaks are new.

Thank you in behalf of my bro for any help you post for us.

Shouldn't be the brake sensor. As far as I can tell that sensor is a simple "switch" that lights the fault indicator when the pads wear down enough to expose the sensor.

Send a message via MSN to Utahkompressor
Check the blow off valve...a lot of CDI engines have problems with it.

Thumbs up

Thanks
Yes I think break sensor is just to worn you of wear of the pads as I know about it. My Bro told me that if you change oil in car after 5-6 thousand miles and do not reset service mileage CPU extend service for couple thousand of miles by it self. That’s why he thinks that CPU acts like mind of its own lol.
I will tell him to go to garage and check Blow of the valve.
Thank you one more time.

Thumbs up Problem solved

Problem solved, it was air mass meter, but why firs diagnostic didn’t showed any faults? My bro took his car to diesel specialist who did found fault on his CPU and fix for him for 110£ including part. My bro told him that he was already at another garage for diagnostic and CPU didn’t show any faults and he said if CPU for diagnostic is not BOSH it is not necessary that will show all faults, so know if you are taking car for diagnostic take it to someone with BOSH diagnostic CPU.

Sounds like a very fair price for that repair.

It's because it is an air mass sensor on this vehicle and not a full meter as such. You can buy a genuine one from mercedes for £50.
Just as well, I've just replaced mine for a second time, 18 months after the first.
Funnily enough, the unit has failed shortly after a service both times????
