Next steps...

Now that I got the car lowered and some rims on there..Id like to throw some bolt-ons on. I know exhaust is gonna cost a hell of a lot. But my concern is I havn't found anyone that makes a cold air ntake for my car? Does anyone know of a company or website? Also somewhere where I dont have to pay like 1500$ for an exhaust system?

You can get an MB exhaust system for less than that. C32 AMG muffler is $359 at Trademotion and that sounds pretty good. Also the Lorinser is about $549. There are no CAI for the C230 that I know off. There was one back in 2002 but won't fit the 2003. Even then, I know that a forum member with a dyno a long time ago the time did some testing with a 2002 but was dissapointed with the results and sent it back.

how about an overdrive pulley for the supercharger? i dont know how DIY bolt-on those are, but seems like a good handfull of owners are doing that mod, im debating it myself, actually.

No CAI and exhaust is expensive and will produce limited numbers. You could always reflash your ecu for some gains, not many.

I was thinking that there was no CAI...Are you saying I should just get a muffler? Not the whole exhaust? How much boost is my car making stock? Is a pulley going to send it over the edge?

There was a company producing an overdrive pulley for the 1.8lt M271, but after dyno testings, and complaints they discontinued production. On the 1.8lt the supercharger is already boosting to the maximum that the engine can handle, and the pulley doesn't make any real difference.

I'm sure you could rig up a custom cold air intake, but I wouldn't except any more than a few HP gains off of it. If I were to do a custom CAI setup it would be for the sound. When I installed the ASP pulley on my coupe, we ran it really fast without the airbox installed. The sound of the engine was great.

which company would that be?

kleemann and Carlsson has the pulley kit for the C230k and it bumps the stock HP by about 33 along with the filter up from 192. not a bad gain if you ask me.

$1,500 gets you a cat back, not a complete exhaust from most tuners and I don't see why that would buy you much, most people do for the sound. A true complete exhaust with, headers, high performance cat, muffler and tubing would set you back closer to $3K and I don't even know if they make it for the 1.8, I know the made it for the 2.3L motor, check with SuperSprint, they were the only ones making headers.
