Hello.
My dashboard, near or around the steering wheel, usually makes a short "buzz" when I insert the ignition key. I always thought this was a solenoid or some other device unlocking the wheel. For the last few weeks, this buzz has now become 3 or 5 buzzes with the dash indicators turning on/off. When I turn the key to the far right to start, it's been OK.
Yesterday the turn to the right did nothing at first, and the ESP "visit workshop" message came on. I turned the key to off, and then tried again. The car started fine. The ESP message appeared = 1 malfunction. I suspect that I have an intermittent connection in the ignition switch or the D2B link (CANBUS??) is having a problem. Am I on borrowed time? Is this a known problem with the 2003?

Engine Check light is ON but the code says it's the Camshaft Position Sensor. I just received a replacement and will be installing this weekend. I also need to replace the rear pads, I know they're worn down.
In my car, that short "buzz" sound is indeed the steering wheel unlocking. The ESP warning you get may mean that you have to recalibrate the steering input so the computer knows what is going on. I do not recall how to do this. Do a search for it.

I may be wrong, but I think its come to a full stop if you are moving, then turn the steering wheel lock to lock... This may reset the warning. Please correct me if I am wrong
