I beginning to hear a lot of annoying shakes and rattles around my instrument dashboard on my 2004 C230 Kompressor Sedan. These rattles occur mostly when I drive on flat asphalt on the freeway at a constant speed.
My car is a Mercedes Benz outside but the shakes and rattles inside will give you the impression you're riding a Kia.
The shakes and rattles occur sparatically so it will be difficult to show to the dealer.
Does anyone know if CPO warranty will cover these annoying nuisances?
Will new tires help absorb it?
I logged on to post a thread about rattles in my 2003 C230. The most annoying rattle seems to ocur at the center of the dash - under the front speaker. It is getting worse and is particularly annoyiing. I can't drive a rattling MB - that just not right. I don't know the solution - I'm afraid to take the dash apart because things never go back together the same way. Does anyone have a schematice of the dash so that if I try to take it apart I will know how it all fits together? Have you found any solutons. I on't want to take it to the dealer . . . .$$$$$$.
Sounds as though the center speaker possibly may be loose so it's vibrating at times. That's pretty much the only thing I can see in that area unless it's the ashtray area which just sounds like it's up top.
