So tonight I went to fill up at the gas station, and accidently put in almost four gallons of regular 89 octane gasoline. The gas pumps are all mixed up with most of them having 91 premium on the right, and 89 regular on the left. Usually stop at a pump with 91 on the right... So, four gallons of gas later I notice, and stop the pump.
I decide the best solution is to completely fill the rest of the tank with 91 octane as usual. So, eight gallons later tank is full with 12 gallons 91, and 4 gallons 89 octane. I'm thinking this should be good enough for the engine to function normally, but here's the thing...
I just purchased an ASP overdrive pulley, and have already received it in the mail. Waiting on Iridium IX plugs from NGK, which should be here in a day, or so. Do you guys recommend that I burn off that tank of gas before the installation of the pulley, or recommend another method allowing me to do the pulley installation without any problems because of this mistake? I would like to get it done as soon as possible, so I can send the OEM pulley back for the $300 dollar core refund.
So, what does everyone recommend? Siphon the tank, a proven additive that works, wait on pulley installation, or anything else?
Thanks,
Matt

Yeah, you'll be fine, you're car's electricals will compensate in case you are worried about knocking, even though there probably won't be any. On a side note, what's the highest octane you guys get over there?
been running my 2003 c230 coupe on 89 octane for 2 months since gas went over 4 bucks/gal. I have seen no difference in performance, but I am getting 30 mpg now. ????
