Noobie here...help me choose please.

Hi all...

Im not a benz owner yet...here are my choices. (I have to sell my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 first and I think I have a buyer)

2005 c230k 7400 miles 6speed - white (audi deeler) $23,950

2005 c230k 22000 miles auto navigation - red (benz dealer and certified) $22,000

The 6 speed is flawless...has a 3m clear bra and still smells new.

the auto (I haven't been in it yet) looks really good (few chips) and has been debadged.

How much better is it to have a certified vehicle? I really would like the 6speed but I really like the idea of nav....

experienced opinions needed and appreciated!

Thanks,

PKI

You can always add an aftermarket GPS unit to your car that you can take with you to your next or other car.

I use an Axim X51V PocketPC with a GPSlim bluetooth radio, and iGuidance Software.

Go with the 6-speed. you can always add the navigation later with an aftermarket or portbale GPS (which are better than OEM)

I Just recently purchase a c230 and the certified won't really help much because most of the bugs and electrical problems been resolve with the facelift c-class

7400 Miles? Dang.

Get the one from audi, register the car on MBUSA's website, and when you get the phone calls harassing you to extend your warranty to 10 years / 100k miles, say the price is too high, they'll give you a lower price, buy the warranty.

You will use it if you don't do your own work, trust me. I'm up to 3 grand in warranty repairs since I bought mine used. The previous owner had several warranty issues before 50k miles. The total of those warranty items is over $2,000.

Warranty!

I purchased my car with only 8k miles on it. It still smelt new. I didn't mind the color as I was looking for either black or silver. I like my command navi, I have all the disks and it is flush. Depends on what color you like, how you like to drive and what options are there. Does the navi come with a Bose system? etc? You might think that these cars are pretty much identical but Mercedes has a lot of options.

As far as a warranty, I'd purchase one because any repair will cost you like $500 bill and that isn't even a major repair. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck on your buy. Red will def get you a lot more attention from police than white.

Both should still be under factory warranty? Is it 50K or 100K factory? Mine came 100K factory CPO. It all comes down your choice and what they have to offer you. As for the navigation thing you can just buy a portable like the others mentioned. If the 6 speed is flawless then go for it.

you can get extended warranty for either one from MBUSA as long as the car is still under the original manufacturer warranty.

The manufacturer warranty is 4yr/50k miles which depends on the date of the car was originally sold. The warranty could expire as soon as Aug for a 2005 model.

The CPO warranty extend to 7yr/100k miles. The extended warranty from MBUSA extend to 7yr/100k miles as well. except that for CPO you don't have to pay for it. The extended warranty is usually around $2000.

The Navigation you can get one from mbenznl.com for around $2000 I think if decide to get the manual white one.

IMO I would pick the red with auto and Nav. and CPO warranty. because overall if you want to have the same warranty and Navigation for the white one you will end up paying at least $4500 more on top of the $1900 difference price tag given that you didn't negotiate the price yet.
