hi everyone, i have a 03 c230kompressor with a big problem. yesterday I broke down on the highway...I started to hear this high pitched noise that went with rpm''s...after a few minutes the car started to decelerate and felt like it was out of gear. I pulled over and sure enough when trying to accelrate nothing happend just rpm''s going up no gear.
Car was towed to MB dealership in the area. 6 hours later and $750 later car was supposably fixed.....they stated that they have replaced the transmission contact plate.
so everything great car works and drives. I get back on the road today and I start hearing the same noise.....sure enough a few minutes later same thing.....car won''t shit into higher gears and loses speed. I pull over "park" turn the car off and back on and shift into "d" but no gear... same for the reverse. I tried a few more times....sometimes it would shift into 1st? gear and accelrate very slowly and the loosing gear again.
anybody know what this is?
thanks for your help in advance...
so....today the delaer is telling me I need a new trnasmission because the "fluid is milky" and it had an internal failure.
Sounds to me like they have no freaking clue whats wrong with it.
I would demand they give me a refund for that contact plate they misdiagnosed first off. I would also take the car to another dealer and to some independents to make sure that it indeed needs a new transmission. DO NOT always trust the dealer. They tried to screw me on my car with transmission problems also before it was about to go out of warranty. Mine had the acceleration with rpms and no gear also. It also slammed into gear and did not shift sometimes. They said mine was fine and just needed a new sensor. After bitching for a week I ended up with a new transmission.
