Alternator Battery warning

Are Valero components better than Bosch? Perhaps I should have replaced my failed Valero with another Valero?

It was only the voltage regulator that failed for me so if I had time I definitely could have saved much $$$ by only replacing that component.

Ack! Bosch, Lucas, Delco.... how hard can it be these days to make a simple alternator?

If you go to yellowpages.com and enter "alternator repair" and your zip it will list all the places in town and some out of town. There is one in Lake Forest that claims precision remanufacture of starters and altenators. If you take your alternator to a kragen, autozone, pepboys, baums, many of these places can bench check your alternator and tell you if it's bad, and what part of it is bad. Save you from spending coin on something that may not be bad, not that it was great to begin with

Dude thank you- I am sick of getting gouged from my mercedes dealer. I will follow your advice about it- i a going to find the alternator and take it in. Thank you.
