finally got my car!
well, after 17 days of waiting, I finally picked up my 05 C230 Kompressor Sedan on monday evening! i absolutely love it! it is a lease trade in out of georgia that i purchased from carmax. a tad over 30k mi, 6spd manual trans, black on black leather. took it down to my mechanic to have it checked out and he said that it appeared to have aftermarket brakes/rotors and what looks to be an AMG body kit. the brake calipers have "Mercedes-Benz" cast along the face of them and the rotors are slotted. are these stock or could they be aftermarket? (i'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow or saturday, at work right now). certainly won't be my last benz, trying to sell my 97 F-350 diesel to purchase an early 2000's (00, 01, 02) ML 320/500 for a winter ride so i can park the c-class. thanks for listening to my excitement n thanks in advance for any thoughts on the brakes.

Congrats on your purchase. Enjoy your C. The description of your brakes & AMG body styling sound like my car, which is stock. Mine is the sport sedan which has the AMG front/read bumper, side panels, sports suspension, studded pedals, 3-point steering wheel etc. It has a harsher ride than the non-sport sedan version, but I'm used to it by now.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new ride. Everything you described about your car is normal, the way all C230's came to the U.S. in 2005. Also, manual trans is the way to go.
I too got my C-Class at CarMax. I love it very much!
When Mercedes starts to harass you about your warranty expiring, go ahead and buy the extension! My warranty was still in effect when I bought the car, but it only had 2k left. I bought CarMax's warranty for $1200 and it has paid for itself. So far I have had $2000 worth of warranty work done. I'm at 65k miles.

I love the look of the C230, I'm sure you'll love yours!
