So as I am getting in my car I go to close the door and the interior plastic door handle comes out of the door. The plastic part broke apparently, so now the handle is not secure to the door. What part is needed to fix this? Do I have to take the door panel off to fix this?

This also happened to me. The plastic on the top part of the driver side interior door pull broke somehow. Anyways, I went to the dealer, gave him my VIN# (for the correct color) to see how much they're worth. It was around $80 in Canada.
Before I purchased the part, I thought I would try to use epoxy (2 part) glue to fix it. I applied the epoxy to both parts of the broken handle. Use a toothpick or something to apply the glue carefully so you don't get the epoxy on other parts of the door panel. You need to apply some pressure to the busted part while the glue is drying. So I used a stick and wedged it against the handle and the door panel on the other side of the
car. Let it sit overnight. You could remove the door panel, place it on the floor and put some weight on it while the epoxy dries.
It's been about 3 months, and it's still holding. You cannot even see where it was repaired. Good luck!
Thanks for the info! I just tried to use mighty puddy and it did not work out so well. I was thinking about trying super glue, but I need to go get some. I am def going to try the epoxy if it worked out for you. I am also thinking of removing the door panel so that I can glue it down better. You have any clue how to remove the door panel? I don't want to break anything.
I have removed the door panel before. It was to replace my door lock actuator.
I believe there are 3 "torx" screws, that are hidden. One behind the "SRS" badge on the door panel, and 2 under the door grab handle. Just pop the badge off and carefully pry the grab handle apart. If you look carelully, you will see how the handle is 2 pieces. There are also 2 torx screws by the door latch that have to be removed. Remove the top speaker cover (near the outside mirror), then use a wedge or pry type tool to unsnap the plastic clips that hold the door panel on. You will have to unclip the power window wire harness to completely remove the door panel. I can't remember if that's all you have to remove. I will attach a diagram to try and help you out. Let us know how your epoxy (for plastic) fix works out.
I also had the same problem. downloaded the instructions from installuniversity and replced both door handles. replacing the first took 30 minutes, mainly because i wanted to ensure i had the right process. second one took 15 minutes to do.

Very helpful! Sounds easy to do from that. I think I just may do this instead of using the epoxy because I have a feeling I will get it all over. You know of anywhere to get the parts besides the dealer for cheaper? Thanks!
