Hi:

My wife owns a 2002 C320. The "Econo Mode" button on the Climate Control panel is stuck (red light is on) and is thus disabling the compressor and not allowing the air conditioner to work.

Are there any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Is it a simple matter of trying to pry it to the off position or do i need to take the Climate Control unit out adn replacing the unit.

If so any suggestions on where I get instructions to do so, and to locate a replacement unit (new of used).

Thanks,

Thcuse

the red light staying on has nothing to do with the ac panel itself. usually the issue has to do with a low refrigerant level. once the level is too low the system shuts the compressor off to prevent damage. now if the level is ok, the coding in EIS may be incorrect. if that is ok you may have a bad pressure sensor. any of those are the cause.
