can anyone help me whit an answer. why my C240 almost stops when I push the brake. We just changed the spark plugs(without wires) , plus the fuel filter and air filter. After these changes the engine is worst. Please, can someone help me with and answer? Thank.
OK; this happens sometimes.
You just did a spark plug change, fuel filter change so RECHECK your work
Make sure your Fuel Filter is going in the CORRECT FLOW DIRECTION.
and it's not leaking gasoline.
Secondly; make sure you installed the correct spark plugs AND the Gap was
factory perfect.
Third; check to make sure the spark plug wires you installed correctly and
they are situated snugly. Di-electric grease on the Spark Plug tip and inside
the boot.
Just RETRACE your steps.
It's something you did.
Heck, I've been in your situation a hundred times over and over.
I'll give you an example.
Back, way back when, I did my first ever spark plug wire and spark plug change
I took everything off. I SWORE I knew exactly how it should be.
On my life I swore this.
Well, guess what? The car did not want to start. I was so angry I was
seething with anger. I was too embarrassed to ask another mechanic for help.
Finally my girlfriend said the wires were installed wrong, I screamed at her, her Daddy said the same thing. I told them all to go away and leave me alone.
Low and behold.
I installed the wire in the incorrect sequence.
Once I listened to someone else; it instantly started.
Your crankshaft positioning sensor (CPS) might be out of whack as well....
