Hi guys, I'm instaling the pioneer avic-d3 Nav. system and I disconect the hood cable from the inside of the hood (no from inside the car) and by mistake I did close it before put it back I now I don't know how to open the hood from the grill.
Took a look at it and it attaches in two place that's not really accessible from the front. Possibly from underneath but I'm at a loss as to how you can do this. Your best bet is to take it to the dealer or a body shop and see if they can release the hood. They must have a way as the cable does eventually break.
i did it once for the Mercury Mistique, and there i was able to take the front grill off since it was bolted vertically. But i know MB grill is bolted from the back/ engine compartment, so no clue on that one. I will take a look at the latch assembly and how its mounted to the frame, and see if its possible to un-bolt the assembly through the grille. Will let you know.
