My Car won't start after shutdown between 30 and 90 minutes (when hot) . Car starts immediately after shutdown or after cooling down for about 30-45 minutes. Symptoms progressed to car dying frequenlty while driving and won't start until cools down in excess of 1 hour. When I turn my 2001. It does sound like it is trying to crank but it will not turn back on until it cools.
I was told it might be the crank position sensor so I went out and bought one but I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how you replace it. I would first like to know exactly where it is under the hood and any additional inormation anyone can give me. Thanks in Advance
the sensor is located at the top of the engine where the engine and tranny meet. if you look at the driver rear of the engine where the fuel line goes into the rail, it is below that. not directly below but its back there. the c class is tricky to do, but with the right tools, its not that hard.
