NEW WHEELS - Some help with spacers.

I Just got a set of new wheels.

19x8.5 in the front 19x9.5 in the rear the ofset is et 38+ or whatever.
my old wheels fit like just barely with a 35 offset all the way around... these wheels though are like SUPER SUPER SUPER close... like they look like they will rub the shock in the front...

If I put spacers on the front it will push me out a little bit and give me clearance right ?? so that I can use the new wheels... How much spacer do you think is needed ?? 10mm 15mm 20mm ??

As it is right now, when the wheel is straight I can slip my fingers between the inside of the rim wall and the shock. If I turn it all the way to either side It pinches my finger and they touch.

I think I fucked up and I might have to return the wheels but I dont know if they are guna let me... If I can just get spacers I would love to put the new wheels on...

Anyone Got spacers ?? where did you get them ??
What size do you think would make me clear the gap??

I think I rushed it cus I was excited for summer... damn it.

If I assume your old wheels were the same width as your new ones, then you need a 3mm thick spacer. I have not seen one that thin, but I have seen this one which is 5mm and it is hubcentric which is nice.

how come you Using Staggard wheels on a 4Matic ???? i think you might have Problems be careful but a picture of the wheel will help more . you maybe able to use a 5mm Spacer and longer Lugs the right offset for the front should be around 32 offset and Below to clear without spacers what size Tires you have?

Spacers also cause Vibration... next time research your wheels before you buy...

yea I thought they were 35 offset and that wouldnt have been bad. thats what I had and it worked... but they are 38 offset so its more.
I was thinking the reverse... that the higher the offset the further from the hub but the higher the offset it seems the closer to the hub it is huh??
So with 38offset +5 mm would make me 32 offset ?

or do I have this all wrong

What do you mean Cause Vibrations ?? like they will give me shimmy ?? if this is the case the wheels are going back and I will put my orignals back on.

yes 38 offset Plus 5mm Spacer will push the Wheel AWAY from the Strut/Shocks and you will get a New Offset of 33offset with the Spacers on! 38-5=33

the lower the offset the further away the wheel will be and it will Stick out the Fender or will be Closer to the Outter Fender

hope this helps

Adding Spacers there will be a RISK of getting Shimmy/Vibration when you Hit 60-80MPH

if you are getting spacers get H&R Or Eibach

I don't understand why you just didn't buy spacers like I told you initially before getting new rims? 5mm spacers should be fine. I'm running a 32 offset. Let me know how everything goes. I'll be out on long island this weekend.

I am surprised that you went and got new wheels with the incorrect offset all over again joey. They better look freaking nice for all the freaking trouble you are going through to get them to fit.

once I get them set up you will see, there like yours but black multi spokes with silver rivits between them and a dish and a half...

I just fucked up because when I ordered them for some reason I was thinking that my old wheels were +35 and they were close... I was thinking +38 would make them furthar away (the oppisite is true) like a dipshit I wasnt thinking and I forgot the stock offset is +32 not +35... At the moment I was thinking ok so 38 is more then the stock 35 and it will be a lil farther away which will be good because it makes me nervous there so close....

I dont know it was one of those impulse buys that I am starting to regret. I might have to return them since they are still wrapped up... Blah I am a dummy sometimes.

Return the wheels you just bought, buy spacers and save yourself a lot of money. The rims you have are nice. There's no need to replace them. My .02 anyway.
