1. I've got almost 7000 miles on my car since I got it. Before my display thingy (I dont kno what its called) showed when I needed both services A and B but now it only says service B in 3000 miles. Does that mean I was already supposed to have Service A done??
2. Whenever I go over bumps, or go over railroad tracks or am driving on a not so smooth road my car makes a weeeirrrd squeaking type of sound. It reminds me of springs..I don't know how to describe it, but it comes from the back end and...yeah bad description I know. It doesn't happen with any other cars I've driven so is this normal or do I have to get it checked out??
#1...Some start with the B service and some start with the A service but your's started with both showing???... Did the dealer reset your car somewhere down the line?
#2...Go to the dealer and take the tech along on your favorite bumpy road and show him the weird sound.
The A/B service reminders come up every 10K miles or 12 months on the 4 cylinder MBs. The creaking noise, if that's what you hear when you go over speed bumps or in your case railroad crossing may be because the shocks are not used to traveling that much on a regular basic so when you stretch them beyond normal sometimes they creak, squeak. So for example, there's a street by me that has a huge speed bump ever 100' or so and the first few it does it and by the time I've gone through the first 7 or so it stops doing it. Even after they dealer replaced the bushing in the front, it was quiet for a month or so and then it did it again so it could be the bushings need a quick spray of silicone.
Check 2 things: Power steering fluid and ball joints. I don't know if that's your problem, but I've had strange noises going over bumps as well. The first was a clunking sound. This was a result of my ball joints being worn out where the sways connect to the tie rods. Jack the car up and jerk the tie rod back and forth. If the ball joint is worn out, you'll hear/see/feel it give when you jerk it. If it feels solid, then that's not the problem.
The other noise I had sounded like a moaning spring. It was my steering system lacking lubrication. Topping off power steering fixed the problem.
Good luck. I don't know if either of these will fix your problem, but it's something to look at.
If you car needed Service A you would get a reminder every time you started your car. Your screen would display "Service A overdue by X amount of Days"
You prob just need a Service B which is similar to a service A except a little more indepth.
What part of NY are you from? M/F ... i'm only asking because your name is MSz. If a female i'd recommend just bringing it into the dealership. These cars are pretty tricky to work on yourself if you haven't done so before.
My car squeeked in the ass-end and I had it fixed under warranty. Now the sound is now coming from the other side. To me, it sounds like it is coming from a bushing, that particular rubber bushing sound.
