I have an annoying "engine hood open" warning light flashing on every time I start up. Seems it goes away when the 2001 C240 is facing down a slope. Not sure if it is a sensor or even where the sensors are located, so any suggestions will help
Ah, thanks, found it! It was loose on the engine side, so only made contact when the car was tilted forward. Clicked it back into place and all is well - thanks again!
Just read your post - I have the same vehicle same problem...how did you fix it???? Thank you so much for any help you can provide. Is it a latch that's loose or a sensor??
On my 2001 C240 there's a switch that clips underneath the passenger side hood latch. If you allow the hood to fall and close on it's own, the switch can easily get moved out of place and cause this problem, so it's best to gently close the hood.
