Sticky stuff on bottom of doors

Washed the car last night, and see a gooey substance oozing from the bottom of all four doors. There is a thin plastic edge at the bottom of the door, and whatever this is seems to be coming from between the metal of the door skin and this trim. Tried a couple of searches on this forum, and don't get any hits. Has anyone else noticed this? Tried a bug and tar remover, and a goo-gone, but neither seem to fully disolve it. Wonder if it is some sort of coating that's melting inside the doors?

Thanks!
