I have had a couple of cars in the past that I hooked up with audio components. I haven't for a long time. Now that I have my first mercedes I think it's about time to do it again. I have done some research and pretty much know what I want. I am looking at infinity kappa speakers for the doors with a 4 channel amp by infinity also. I am not sure if I am going with a sub or not (give me your opinion on that, I don't want to drown in bass). The head unit is where I run into trouble. I found a sweet kenwood double din that I like and an eclipse head unit as well. First does anyone have any advice or changes they think I should make? And second if anyone has done their own install. How hard is it on a c230? Thanks.
I would contact Steve at mbenznl.com, he can hook you up with a nav unit/bose system. Personally, I think you can get a sweet stock upgrade by that approach.
I have a 2005 with the Harman-Kardon Entertainmet Package. I just think keeping with stock parts will be a cleaner looking approach. The cd-based navs are cheaper and I'm pretty sure you can upgrade to a nice stock bose system. I've heard the bose are better than the H/Ks. I've had my amp replaced under warranty and some other issues with software updates. You can reach steve at his website mbenznl.com. Keep us posted on what you do.

Is this for a european command? I currently have command/bose but the european version allows dvd in motion.
The thought of adding a subwoofer crossed my mind but I decided not to touch the system and use the money upgrading elsewhere.
I contacted Steve. They responded and asked where I was located. I am just waiting for the response. I definitely am interested in the system. Is this something I can most likely install myself?
