If anyone out there can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. If possible I'd like to fix this myself so if I need to order a part, any references would be greatly appreciated.

My 2002 C320 has a driver's seat that only goes forward or reverse occasionally (and if so, usually happens in small increments). All other parts of my seat work fine. I can hear the seat click when I push the button forward or back, but the seat either moves a little or not at all.

Once a friend of mine pushed on my seat (forward) as I pushed the button. That worked and moved my seat forward. I just took my car in for a car wash DOH!! the person washing my car was able to move the seat back, but now I can't move it forward!

help please

Sounds like something in the seat track is binding up. Take a look down there with a flashlight. Make sure nothing is blocking the track(i have found change in them before, but that usually totally stops them) and make sure there is still lubricant on the track and gears. It is possible that your forward/ reverse motor is starting to wear and drawing excessive current, that would trip the circuit breaker and make the seat stop. If it appears that everything in the frame is good the motor is most likely the culpret. You can do all of the work yourself but its not "easy" as you will have to remove the seat to get to the motor.

to get you going again.

If you unplug the power seat wire for 30+ seconds, that will reset the limiters, then if you move it forward in very short bursts, that might get you going again. If this dose not work, you have to pull the seat for a "look see".

I will post a pic of the slide lock plug and seat bolts.
