My dad has a 2003 c200k. We were told by the previous owner it has factory fitted amg upgraded drilled discs with better calipers, suspension, seats, stainless exhaust and the 5 spoke wheels with 225/45/17's on the front and 245/40/17's on the rear.
When I checked it out on the russian site, there were a few options that sounded interesting which I wondered if anyone here knew about.
M18 engine pre-heater - on a uk petrol car?
053 aej. 02/2 (с 22.09.1997) - ???????
165 engine with special parts (с 29.05.1996) - has the engine been upgraded from standard?
486 sports chassis (с 01.04.1997) - is that just the suspension?
949 equipment package mk-line (с 12.06.1997) - anyone got any ideas, can't find any info myself.
Any info on any of the above would be very much appreciated.
486 - Yes you have the sport tuned suspension which is lower and tighter than non-sports
949 - No Clue

Thanks for the help with 486. I did also suspect 165 was the Kompressor but the strange thing is I checked out a few vin numbers from other kompressors on american ebay (engish doesn't give vin's) on that russian site and only one had the same code which is why I wondered if there was anything more to it.
I think that with the American version of the C230 (which is the only 4 cyl with komp.) the kompressor is not considered a special part... after 1998 I believe... I know some C230's were naturally aspirated before that time.

Damn, shame it isn't anything especially tasty, but thanks a lot for that info, that makes sense now.
