HORRIBLE VIBRATING NOISE WHEN PULLING AWAY

In the last day or so, when pulling away in my C270 CDi, going through 1900RPM, I get a horrible vibration noise coming from the front of the vehicle. It doesn't make the noise when I rev. the car in neutral, only in drive mode.

This makes me think it could be something to do with the transmission.

Spoke to another C220CDi driver. He had a similar thing, and they found water contamination in the diesel. Some water had damaged one of the injectors.

The sound seem to come from near the wheel arches, almost as though something plastic is rubbing against something else. It only makes this sound going through 1900 RPM, and then goes away again.

Any ideas anyone???

Some feedback to this problem:

We found the problem to be mud that had built up under one of the plates underneath the car. When the engine was developing lots of torque at around 1 900RPM, the engine vibration would cause the plate to vibrate.

Glad it was a cheap easy solution.

Thats good. cause when i bought my original 01 C320, it had that problem right of the lot. It spend 1/2 month in mechanic shop and then a full month at Mb dealers @$100/hour they couldnt find the problem...so the dealership i bought it from took it back fearing i would file a lemon law against them.
Great to hear you got it resolved fairly cheap!
