Question Which Filter Activated Charcoal or Particulate Filter?? HELP!

Hey everyone!

I just finished ordering online the filter located behind the battery in my 2005 C230K. I ordered the "Activated Charcoal Filter" to replace the dirty one that is in there now, did I get the right one or was it the Particulate Filter?

If I did purchase the wrong one, can I still use this Activated Charcoal Filter located behind the battery?

Thanks!

The filter located above the battery is not the charcoal filter. Personally, I do not know the difference in dimensions of the two, but I doubt you can use it.

it is called a dust filter, the charcoal filters are thicker and different material.

You can not use the charcoal filter in place of the paper filter on your car.
Yes - we only have a paper filter - it installs one way and will not fit the charcoal unit. You also will notice a huge difference in price. The charcoal filter is activated with a button on the passenger side of the HVAC Climatronic control...and is intended to purify and clean the cabin air quickly…

Good luck
Jake

I believe there is only a charcoal filter if you have the fancier climate control with the REST button and dual direction controls.

The charcoal filter is located under the dash on the passenger side. It was only available to the W203 with the digital climate control. I know that the digital system was only available on the C320 up to 2004, not sure about later models. You should update your profile.
