How to remove rear view mirror?

I want to replace the rear view mirror in my 04 C230 with a homelink-enabled one I got off ebay. Any tips on how to remove it?

Thanks!

It's funny that you post this question today. I am in the process of repairing my C240 (2002) passenger side mirror that got side-swiped.

Since my mirror was already broken off, I did figure out how to remove the housing, motor controller, and LED signal module. However, since the mirroe was broken off, I can not figure out how to re-secure a new mirror to the motot assembly. Maybe someone else can help both of us.

Since my housing was OK, I bought a new LED signal assembly ($59) and a new mirror ($120) from my local MB dealer.

I had the dealer swap out the mirrors for me when I had the car in for an oil change. They quoted me $50 to do the work, but when I picked it up they said they should have charged more because they had to remove the overhead console. Still they only charged what they quoted me.

The homelink mirror works great, BTW!
