Angry SCAM MERCEDES BENZ DEALERS not giving LOANERS ANYMORE ? WTF IS WRONG WITH THAT ?

This is crazy. I bought my car from Mercedes Benz of North Haven, and I live in Manhattan and MB of Manhattan is telling me I cannot recieve a loaner vehicle unless I purchased the automobile there. I use to be able to get a loaner vehicle, but now they changed the rule. I checked several other MB dealers and they say the same thing. What type of BS is this ? I have an 05 C55 I purchased for a good price in CT but MB Manhattan expects for me to just wait 5 days until my car is finished. I dont want to drive back to CT just so I can get a loaner vehicle. On top of that they also charging $30 fee for fuel and cleaning that must be paid upon reciet of loaner at MB New Haven. This is just rediculous. I drive an expensive luxury automobile, and their is something wrong with it I cant get a loaner unless it was purchased there, and If I go back to where I purchased it from they are charging me a fee. This is just out right BS. I feel like getting rid of my car now. This is such a total inconvience. This type of mess helps dealers lose potential customers. The customer service has gone down on MB part. Why do they do this ? Has anyone else experienced this. This should end. What difference does it make whether or not you purchased the automobile there or not ? They still get paid. This is outright lame.

Some dealers around here won't give loaners unless you bought the car from them. My closest dealer seems to give loaners to anyone. Many go by a sticker on the windshield, get an MB Manahattan sticker so they think you bought it there. There's incentives from MBUSA for dealers to purchase loaners at discounts so it doesn't really cost them anything but some dealers don't want to deal with it. Some use rentals, or at least let an onsite rental agency deal with it. It is a huge undertaking as my closest dealer has about 200 loaners in their fleet, I can see why some dealer just don't have the room and resources to do this. But I don't understand, I lived in NYC, why do you need a car to get around? It would seem to be more of a hassle than a benefit. I would take it to the dealer every day with some made up sympton just to get the free parking

Hey, I had the same problem but they told me the new rules after the fact. They had my car for at least a month and turned around and charged me $1200 for the loaner that they said they will pay for. Well it turned out that they had paid for half but at the same time that wasnt good enough because in the beginning my stupid service provider said that he will take care of it since my car has been in and out of the shop since October. Boy, did he play me, he then said that since my car wasn't purchased there i would have to pay for the loaner...lol I told him yeah right: You'll be hearing from my lawyer.. They finally put my money back into my account after a month.

My dealer (Sun Motor Cars of Camp Hill, Pa) told me some time ago that they would provide loaner cars only for their own customers. The reason for the change was because there is a dealership 40 miles away that undersells them by fifty or a hundred dollars, so some from this area buy their cars at the other dealership, then take them to Sun for service and a free loaner...

I don't blame them - I'd do exactly the same thing.

Their exception is, I believe, that if you moved into the area from a distance and bought your car from the local dealer where you used to live, they'd "adopt" you, and you'd get all the benefits...

Works for me...

Thats what you get for living in Manhattan. Smells like piss everywhere, no where to park, and no one is beyond a good-old-fashioned phuckover.
I had no problem taking mine to a different dealer and getting a loaner.... in the big metropolis of Kansas City.

I think you should all stop whining. WAAAHHHH!! I live at least 220 miles from the nearest dealer, and if it happens that I have to wait there or cab my ass around until the job is done, I'll do it. Because I am not a whiner. If it bothers you girls that much, buy a mountain bike!
